Description
Canada Post Corporation continued its tradition of featuring the Canadian Flag on postage stamp with a 42 cents definitive stamp issued on December 27, 1991. Complementing last year's depiction of the flag against a background of mountain and forest, the new stamp features the "Maple Leaf" Flag flying over rolling hills in the evening. A one-colour steel engraving of the Flag appears on the 42-cent roll of 100 stamps. Toronto designers Gottschalk + Ash International were responsible for all of the Flag stamp designs, including the 42-cent "Quick Sticks" self-adhesive Flag stamp. The Maple Leaf Flag appeared on a Canadian stamp in 1965, to mark its official proclamation on February 15 that year.
